I am starting my first latch hook project which has come as a kit with a blank canvas. I've read and re-read the instructions and now I think I have a problem. The instructions say to hook on the horizontal parallel threads, not the twisted vertical threads. The problem is, my canvas has the twisted threads going horizontally.

Before anyone suggests just to turn it around, the product is longer than it is wide so it can only go the one way.

Is it OK to hook on those twisted threads if they are horizontal talk? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
