Hi Everyone!
I'm Debbie. I'm a retired 9-1-1 operator from Maryland, with no kids and two cats.

I've been cross-stitching for many years, and way back when, decided to start designing my own patterns.

Several years ago, I thought it would be nice to have matching cross-stitch and latch hook rug designs. So, I purchased latch hook rug software, and set out to learn latch hook rug making.

To my surprise, my first latch hook rug design, "Purple Pansies on Parade" (a photo-to-latch hook design), won a first place ribbon at the Anne Arundel County (Maryland) fair!

The second rug I created, unfortunately, was not well prepped and planned, and the rug eventually fell apart.

I learned from my mistakes, and went on to design and hook, "Creative Support Staff", which also earned several ribbons at the state and county level.

I am currently working on one of my abstract designs, entitled, "AbstraXion 3-98". I recently finished the cross-stitch version, and am very pleased with how it turned out. I am working diligently to get the latch hook version completed in time for "fairi season", later on this year.

I hope everyone has a successful, happy and healthy New Year!
Debbie

Do you have a pattern for numbers? I have crocheted an alphabet afghan for my grandson and want a latch hook rug with numbers to go with it. They aren't as easy to find as they used to be.

Debbie, HELP. I am so excited, I wanted so much to talk to you. I realized if I commented on your topic it might show up on your email. If you will check the chit chat page towards the top and see my plea for help. It begins with HELP and is about the Roly Poly Christmas Tree Skirt. I'm hoping someone with your experience with latch hook and making your own patterns will be exactly what I need. My name is Janet and was a R.N. for years. I am trying to make this for my youngest daughter for Christmas.
